Mse not updating definitions automatically

Visit Stack Exchange I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate, 32-bit.For the last couple of days, MSE doesn't fails to update, remaining stuck at version 1.75.119 I presume that an error log is created somewhere, or an event log, but I don't know where to find those. Tried it at home, at work and friends places, but never works.

Clicking on "MS Security Essentials" in the programs list (XP) doesn't restore the icon, but Security Center is green for virus protection.

Use the steps on this page to make sure that your antivirus program has the newest information about viruses that might infect your computer.

The majority of new antivirus programs (programs or computers purchased after the year 2000) enable users to update their antivirus program through the software.

Restarted computer a lot of times now, checked for Microsoft Updates in general, but nothing shows up.

EDIT: I've opened a bounty for this, because I really don't know what to do anymore.

If for some reason, your Windows Defender will not update automatically, or if you wish to download and save the definition updates in order to maybe update Windows Defender offline, on different installations of Windows 10/8/7/Vista, then this post will be of interest to you.

  1. This is almost always a mistake: first, you should bear in mind that she has most likely started an affair with you because she wants excitement and danger, and not to start another long-term relationship. So, by all means enjoy yourself, but make sure you don't become too attached - above all, it's bad affair dating etiquette!
